Society (2025)

It all begins with an idea. Maybe you want to launch a business. Maybe you want to turn a hobby into something more. Or maybe you have a creative project to share with the world. Whatever it is, the way you tell your story online can make all the difference.

I emphasise and create metaphorical meanings for each element, clearly that it is always open to other types of understanding and interpretations. For each element I will give its respective meaning: the red samakaka I give the meaning of the representation of Angolan society in the post-independence era, where the artistic layer of the Angolan people began to awaken and narrate freedom, justice and the hope of a new future and also how proud Angolan society is for its culture and flag. The black and white samakaka I name as the representation of Angolan society at the time when Angola was part of one of the Portuguese colonies, where artists expressed indignation at oppression, human rights and the desire for perhaps the existence of an event that would change the course of Angola's history: 'The Portuguese colony'. The blue samakaka represents Angolan society in today's times, a society that did not suffer colonial oppression or the challenges that arose during and after the colonial war and the civil war; I focus on today's society that, because of so many destructive events, has lost much of its cultural identity and tries to restructure itself by absorbing culture from other societies.  With this, today's artists try to recover and narrate the lost culture while following the current daily life. The barbed wire network symbolises mental ignorance or impotence to analyse the new, and the beige fabric (canvas) symbolises how European, American and Asian influences have affected and continue to affect Angolan society.

Past (2025)

Fabric on canvas

'PAST' demonstrates the adversities of an era, this vase with a bow represents the beauty of the European vision of a perfect economy, in its parallel it shows the oppression of a people and the hope for a better future.

Present (2025)

Fabric on canvas

'PRESENT' demonstrates the adversities of the epoch, the two vessels that pour a liquid with different substances that do not mix because they have different densities, but that are still interconnected, the action of change in the now.

Future (2025)

Fabric on canvas

'FUTURE', demonstrates the adversities of the current era, what are we and what do we want? What are we without culture? Where is our culture? We are the product of the longed-for freedom, what do we do with this freedom?
